I believe that psychotherapy—also called therapy or counseling—is a collaborative process, a partnership grounded in a holistic approach. By reaching out, you’ve already taken the courageous first steps toward change, & simply keeping your first appointment is an act of strength. My role is to provide a safe, supportive, & confidential space where you can explore your concerns, hopes, & goals. Together, we work to help you grow with integrity in your relationship with yourself & with others.
I practice integrative therapy, a progressive form of psychotherapy that draws on a variety of therapeutic tools and approaches to meet your unique needs. With an understanding of human development, I adapt evidence-based treatments to address gaps or challenges that may be impacting your well-being. By weaving together insights from multiple psychological theories and research, integrative therapy offers a more flexible, inclusive, and personalized path to healing than traditional one-size-fits-all approaches.
Trauma can affect the mind, body, and spirit in ways that feel overwhelming, even long after the experience has passed. Healing is possible. With the right support, the mind has a natural capacity to recover from psychological wounds, much like the body heals from physical injury.
Therapies such as EMDR, somatic approaches, and other trauma-focused methods help reduce the emotional charge of painful memories and support you in moving toward greater resilience, balance, and well-being.
In addition to EMDR, I integrate complementary approaches tailored to each client’s needs, including Ego States/IFS-informed work, mindfulness practices, iRest Yoga Nidra, somatic integration, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. This holistic, integrative approach allows us to address trauma from multiple angles—mind, body, and spirit—creating the conditions for deeper and longer-lasting healing.
iRest is a meditation practice based on the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra and adapted to suit the conditions of modern life. When practiced regularly - a little and often - iRest enables you to meet each moment of your life with unshakable peace and wellbeing, no matter how challenging or difficult your situation.
Integrative Health Coaching (IHC) empowers you to make lasting health behavior changes that are the cornerstones of lifelong well-being in both your physical and mental health. It bridges the gap between medical recommendations and your abilities to successfully implement those recommendations into your complex life. Integrative health coaches work with the whole person, take time to listen to your concerns, and ask powerful questions to help motivate you to make changes.
There is a big misconception out there that therapy means just talking ...talking about the past without ever taking action on the present. This will not be case when we work together. I draw from integrative, holistic time-tested approaches to mental health & well-being that are guided by the current research. While we will always create space to talk about your past and the feelings that surface as we explore this. I am a very engaged therapist and will actively work with you to design interventions, exercises, and thoughtful action steps that attend to your unique background and needs to assist you to achieve forward movement in your life.
Making the decision to seek therapy is not a sign of weakness; it is in fact a wise act of self-care to seek support from professionals when there’s a challenge you need help with. Think about it like this...You seek assistance from medical doctors when you are physically ill , lawyers when you need help filing for divorce or custody, and physical therapy when you are injured. When it comes to your mental and emotional health it’s no different. Reaching out for professional mental health support is an act of self-care to address the challenges you are facing.
Good Question! We will have a State of the Union talk every few sessions to rate progress on your goals. Therapy can last anywhere from one session to several months or years, it is all dependent on the Clients wants and needs. Everyone's story is different, each individual grows, heals and changes at a different pace, so the therapy process too, will be different in each situation.
